Creating A Block Model - 2009 - MineSight

Where Do We Want to Go

•We want to create a 3D block model that contains the ore grades for our deposit

•To get this we will

–Create a file 15 (a file for a block model)

–Create a file 13 (a file for a gridded representation of the surface)

–Use our topo surface to create a grid of surface block elevations from our topo

–Create a Model View so I can see my Block Model as it comes together

–Use the gridded surface to code blocks above the surface to be air

–Use interpolation routines to project block ore grades from our drill hole data.

Importing Drill Hole Data Into Minesight

Next Thing I Need to Do is Import my drill hole data

lCommon things we know about drill holes

¡We know the location of the collar and we know the depth

lMineSight® looks for this in a collar data file

•Can use comma or space delimited so most work

¡We often do down-hole surveys to determine orientation of the hole

lMineSight® looks for azimuth and dip data over various intervals in a survey data file

¡We hopefully assayed samples from our drill holes at various intervals
